ATF to Resume NFA Processing During Government Shutdown

As many of you are likely aware, NFA processing has been paused since the government shutdown began 17 days ago, putting plans for getting new tax stamps on hold and leaving existing applications in limbo.

But according to GOA, relief is on the way: ATF will reportedly call NFA processors back to work on Monday and expects to clear the backlog within two weeks.

GOA's Erich Pratt issued the following statement:

“We are grateful to the Trump administration for recalling NFA examiners to work during the shutdown, ensuring that law-abiding Americans can once again exercise their rights without unnecessary government delays. The whole situation just proves exactly why Congress must repeal the archaic National Firearms Act. Gun owners shouldn’t be forced to beg the government’s permission to exercise their rights.”

We'll take it.
